x360Recover and the RMC Integration Project

Notice

This guide introduces phase 1 of the Remote Management Console (RMC) integration project.

Key features include:

  • Single-pane-of-glass BDR Monitoring: You can monitor your entire x360Recover BDR fleet from the RMC console. RMC Dashboards provide a quick summary of your local Appliances, Axcient cloud and private Vaults, and the health status of your clients’ servers and workstations protected by x360Recover (including Replibit and Direct-to-Cloud). Color-coded health status indicators help you easily identify issues with ongoing data protection and allow you to take immediate action to eliminate the risk of data loss.

  • SLA Alerting Thresholds: RMC SLA alerting allows you to detect potential violations of service-level agreements with your clients. You can customize data protection thresholds based on your recovery point objective (RPO) or choose to leave the default threshold settings. The RMC will trigger alerts when your Replibit devices fall out of protection thresholds. These alerts are accessible through the RMC console only; email notifications are out of scope for this phase.

  • Daily health digests: These concise, one-page reports are emailed daily and provide at-a-glance information on the health status of your clients and their Replibit devices.

  • Usage Summary Reports: RMC offers a variety of reporting options for you to monitor Direct To Cloud and Replibit BDR usage. Report options include Direct To Cloud and Replibit Client Usage summary, Replibit Appliance summary, and Private and Axcient Cloud Vault summaries.

Future releases will introduce additional functionality.

As an x360Recover partner, you have access to the Remote Management Console (RMC), a single-pane-of-glass platform for all your x360Recover tools. From the RMC, you can protect servers and critical workstations, recover data, and safeguard all your backed-up data. Watch the video below to learn more about the RMC integration project.

Architecture and Terminology

The Axcient RMC is designed to provide summary information of your x360Recover solution, including the following elements:

  • Organization—your Axcient partner account.

  • Client—a customer site.

  • Service—the Axcient Service package used to protect a Client.

  • Device(s)—a workstation or server being protected at the Client site.

  • Appliance(s)—the hardware deployed to the Client site. The Appliance is where backup data will reside, and virtualization for instant recovery will be performed.

  • Vaults(s)—the Vault is the data center component of x360Recover that receives incoming protected system data being replicated from your customer’s site. You can choose to vault to the Axcient Storage Cloud (Axcient Cloud Vault) or to your own private infrastructure (Private Cloud Vault).

  • Remote Management Console (RMC)—the highest view of the Axcient protection solution hierarchy. You can monitor, manage, protect, and perform disaster recovery tasks from the RMC.

Direct-to-Cloud Backups

Axcient’s x360Recover Direct-to-Cloud (D2C) provides MSPs with the same full-featured, image-based backups of traditional x360Recover, but without the expense of deploying or managing a local appliance. Direct-to-Cloud devices are also monitored within the RMC.

Administration

The Axcient RMC includes various management and administration pages to help facilitate the management of the Axcient x360Recover solution.

The Axcient RMC includes the following pages:

  • Dashboard—displays summary information across all Appliances and Vaults, including health status information, activities of interest, and other relevant notifications.

  • Services—displays a summary list view of all registered Services. You can click a Service to view the Service Details page, where you can perform management and configuration actions.

  • Clients—displays a summary list view of all Clients, or customers. You can click the Details button to view the Client Details page, where you can track activities of interest and other relevant notifications for the Client.

  • Devices—displays a summary list view of all devices being protected, including devices being protected by Direct-to-Cloud agents. You can click a device to view the Device Details page, where you can view details, health status, and jobs.

  • Vaults—displays a summary view of all registered Vaults. Click a Vault to view the Vault Details page, where you can perform management and configuration actions.
