Version: | Bare Metal Restore (BMR) 2.9.0 |
Release date: | Nov 11 2024 |
Release overview
x360Recover Bare Metal Restore 2.9.0. is a feature release.
The primary purpose of this release is to enhance the Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) wizard to support both the x360Recover Recovery Manager (RMC) and our x360Portal cloud users when they are authenticating for recovery from vaults and appliances.
Summary of feature enhancements
- Added the option to use Cloud User Authentication
Summary of bug fixes
- Fixed issue where the BMR wizard might silently crash in the background when an incorrect password is entered
Other changes
- Removed the option "Recover from Vault (Without Local Cache)"
This option relied on mounting the recovery point via FTP to the vault and performing disk-to-disk imaging of the disk volume exported in the cloud. The performance of this operation was unacceptably slow and caused too many support escalations.
To perform a Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) for Direct-to-Cloud systems that do not have a local cache:
- Download the protected system disk images to local USB or NAS storage
- Perform Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) from the disk image
- Removed the option ‘Disk to Disk Copy’
This operation is not a Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) process and was not being maintained.
Please use other tools to perform generic disk-to-disk imaging or contact Support for additional help with this process.
