Remove the Thin Client when it states "Changes are still being made" - x360Sync

Overview

You may need to remove the Thin Client when it is displaying a Changes are still being made or Changes are still being uploaded notification message. 

Important: Removing Thin Client while changes are not fully synced will cause DATA LOSS. Please ensure all changes are uploaded before continuing. If you can not upload the changes, copy all files into a safe place, a local folder outside of SyncedFolder before uninstalling.

To remove the Thin Client in this situation, complete the following steps:


STEP 1. Stop the service

1.1. Select the Windows button on your keyboard.

1.2. Type services.msc and press enter.

1.3. Locate the Synced Tool service and right click that service.

1.4. Open the drop down menu beside Startup Type and select Disabled. 

1.5. Next, click Apply, and then click Stop. This will stop the service.


STEP 2. End the processes

2.1.  Open the Task Manager as an administrator.

2.2.   Navigate to the process agent_service_VFS.exe

2.3.  Right-click that process and select End process

2.4.  Navigate to the process  agent_gui.exe.

2.5.  Right-click that process and select End process


STEP 3. Prepare and rename folders

3.1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\SyncedTool VFS (or branded name VFS) 

3.2. Zip the database and cache those folders to your desktop.

3.3. Once you have zipped the database and cached those folders to your desktop, return to C:\Program Files (x86)\SyncedTool VFS (or branded name VFS) and rename those folders to anything else.


STEP 4. Uninstall and delete

4.1. Run the uninstaller.

4.2. When the uninstaller is complete, select the Windows button on your keyboard.

4.3. Type regedit and press enter. 

4.4. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Anchor

4.5. Right click the Anchor folder and delete it.

4.6. Navigate to C:\Users\ and delete the entire SyncedTool VFS (or branded name) folder

4.7. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\ and delete the entire SyncedTool VFS (or branded name) folder


Step 5. Reboot

5.1. Reboot the machine
