Version | 1.5.0 |
Release Date | December 22 2021 |
Release overview
Recovery Center 1.5.0 is a feature release.
The primary purpose of this release is to provide direct support for Hyper-V virtualization of protected systems using local cache
- Hyper-V virtualization wizard
- Enhanced xCloud Analysis Tool
- Fixed issue which prevented canceling a job while waiting to retry
- Fixed issue with job being created with invalid network user credentials for local cache
- Fixed issue where chkdsk failed on synthetic NTFS recovery volume
- Fixed issue when xCloud Analysis tool crashed on Windows Server 2008 R2
Release 1.5.0 enables the Virtualize – Hyper-V job type.
When you choose this option, the Recovery Center job configuration wizard walks you through (a) selecting a protected system and (b) creating a virtual machine within the local Hyper-V host environment.
- Virtual machines running within Hyper-V leverage the previously-released Virtual Disk Export feature. This provides the protected system disk volumes transparently from the backup data.
- Running virtual machines (using local cache) perform comparably to native guest virtual machines on Hyper-V.
- Once permanent storage and/or hosting environments have been restored, the running protected system virtual machine may be migrated, live, to the new storage and/or host targets - without shutting down or rebooting the system.
For more information about using virtual disk exports with D2C and Hyper-V, see the Recovery Center User Guide.
The primary purpose of this release is to provide direct support for Hyper-V virtualization of protected systems using local cache.
