What to do if the entire vApp gets wiped and recovery from the Axcient Cloud is required

Problem: The entire Virtual Appliance (vApp) gets wiped and recovery of the entire vApp environment from the Axcient Cloud is required.

Cause: While this is a rare scenario, it usually implies a catastrophic failure of the data center and/or rack where the Axcient Virtual Appliance is running, such as fire, water damage, earthquakes or other natural disaters.

Solution: Once the user is ready to restore the entire vApp environment, the user should do the following:

  1. Contact Axcient Support and describe the situation at hand.
  2. Axcient will ship a USB drive with all required replicated data in the Cloud.
  3. The user will configure the USB Passthrough using VMware to the VM that is running the Axcient Virtual Appliance.
  4. Once Step 3 is completed, plug in the USB drive and then call Axcient Support to complete the process.
