Problem: User receives a “Service Temporarily Unavailable” message in the Web Application after deploying a Virtual Appliance (vApp).
Cause: This error message occurs when the vAppe is unable to connect to the Web App and establish a secure tunnel. You will see this message on the RMC side when attempting to log into the listed vApp for the first time.
The cause for the vApp to Web App connection problem is typically due to a vApp networking configuration issue (i.e. an IP address and/or DNS issue) resulting in the connection problem from the vApp to the Web App. If the vApp is booted up without any DHCP or static IP configuration, then by default it self provisions an IP address of 192.168.100.1 which is internal to the vApp and cannot be bridged with an external network via the VMware host.
Solution: To resolve this issue, please follow the steps listed in the How to Configure a Static IP Address for a Virtual Appliance.
