What is a High Availability (HA) Environment?

By default, the x360Sync Server Installer installs a single x360Sync, Apache, and database server on one machine (physical or virtual).

The basic recommended server requirements for this type of environment can be found in this document: Architecture - x360Sync

For advanced private cloud environments—intended to support a high number of users— we recommend that you configure a high availability (HA) environment, where the Apache server and PostgreSQL database server are installed on separate machines, and x360Sync is replicated on multiple machines.

Why would I need a to configure a High Availability environment?

For large-scale environments, a high availability environment eliminates a single-point of failure on the server level (virtual or physical), allowing for distribution of load across multiple servers.
